2025 Advent Skein Info

I am so happy you are here, knitting along with my 5th Advent Skein!
This year's theme is Knitting in the Pacific Northwest. All of the colors are inspired by the beautiful landscape of the region.
Remember, I feel pretty strongly that this is YOUR count down skein. Use it however you would like. Knit it all at once, or count down to a special day. Whatever day you choose to count down to, start working a stripe a day 24 days before that date.
Here's what I have done to ensure that your skein is truly a surprise. You have two identical 50 gram skeins, already caked up and hidden inside your canvas bag. The two strings from the center pull balls are peeking just outside the top of the bag so that you can cast on without ever looking inside!
How will you know to stop knitting so you don't see the next day's color? There is a thin stripe between each color that is the same color as your mini. When you return to that color that is your visual cue to stop knitting for the day. (But only if you don't want to see the next color.)
This Advent has been designed specifically with the intention of knitting socks or other small circumference project. If you choose another project, please keep in mind that you will not have enough yarn of the in-between color to make a complete stripe, resulting in some uneven pooling.
Keep in mind that if you choose to knit a stripe a day, you may not finish your project within 24 days! For instance, if you are counting down to Christmas and you decide to make socks, beginning December 1 you could knit one stripe a day until Christmas Eve without repeating any colors, but you might not be finished with your socks! If you would like to finish your socks for Christmas Day you might need to knit 2-3 stripes a day, depending on the size being made, gauge, etc.
